South Carolinians Determined to Stop Domestic Violence

December 5, 2013 - Posted in Palmetto Scene by Tabitha Safdi

According to the Violence Policy Center’s annual report, South Carolina leads the nation in the rate of women killed by men, up from number two the previous year. The state’s rate of 2.54 women killed per 100,000 people in 2011 was more than twice the national average.

People from all parts of the Palmetto State are coming together to do something about it. Churches, civic groups and local organizations are standing up and stepping out against this tragic epidemic. You can find help through the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA).
