President's Corner Monthly Newsletter, July 2016
Dear Viewers and Listeners,
This month SCETV is proud to air A Capitol Fourth, the time-honored all-star salute to our country’s birthday. Broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the inspirational program features top musical guests, with special segments celebrating the 75th anniversary of the USO and the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
Also in July, both political parties converge to hold their national conventions and SCETV brings viewers complete television coverage of each week-long event. PBS NewsHour journalists Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff anchor the newscasts from Cleveland (Republican) and Philadelphia (Democratic), which are interspersed with interviews, analysis and commentary from contributing reporters.
Our own award-winning series Making It Grow has recently been honored with a Telly Award. Produced live each week from SCETV’s Sumter studios in partnership with Clemson University, the multi-award winning series is hosted by Amanda McNulty and produced by Sean Flynn. The winning episode featured guest Laurie Aker from Earth Fare who demonstrated how to make a “Mason jar” salad.
South Carolina Public Radio is refreshing its schedule with the addition of new programs including the engaging variety series Live Wire!, the cultural arts series The Dinner Party, and exceptional musical performances recorded live at the renowned Brevard Music Festival. You can read more about these offerings in the Radio section of the Scene.
If you’re on the go this summer, be sure to download our SCETV app from the ITunes Store or the Android store, and take SCETV and SC Public Radio with you everywhere!
