President's Corner Monthly Newsletter, August 2016
Dear Viewers and Listeners,
As we draw closer to the November election, the award-winning series American Experience brings you in-depth portraits of our recent past presidents. From August 8 through August 17, viewers will get an inside look at their leadership decisions in governing our nation.
Our August pledge week brings programming guaranteed to perk up the dog days of summer. Musical specials touch on a variety of genres, including Summer, Surf and Beach Music; Rhythm and Blues 40: A Soul Spectacular; Joan Baez’ 75th Birthday Celebration; The Highwaymen; and Lawrence Welk: Milestones and Memories. Several ever-popular documentaries give solid advice on how to stay trim, healthy, strong, and happy. For those of you with Downton Abbey fever, I Miss Downton Abbey (Aug. 25 at 9 p.m.) revisits treasured moments from the unforgettable series, and includes new scenes and interviews.
And no matter where you go this summer, don’t forget to use your SCETV Passport—extended on-demand access to a wide variety of public television programming. The member benefit to those pledging $75 or more is available on the SCETV website, PBS.org and other digital platforms. Members simply identify ETV as their local PBS member station on PBS.org and the PBS Video apps for iOS and Android smart phones and tablets, as well as the PBS app on AppleTV. For more information, visit SCETV Passport. You won’t have to miss any of your favorites while on vacation!
As always, we thank you for your continued and much-valued support.
