PBS presents Ken Burns’ The Vietnam War September 17-21, 24-28 at 8 p.m. on SCETV. This 10-part documentary film series tells the epic story of the Vietnam War as never before. Ten years in the making, the series brings the war and the chaotic epoch it encompassed to life. It includes rarely seen archival footage from around the globe, photographs, historic television broadcasts, home movies, and audio recordings from inside the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon administrations.

“This month, Ken Burns’ long-awaited series The Vietnam War takes an unprecedented look at this turbulent period in our nation’s history,” said Linda O’Bryon, SCETV President and CEO.

The programs also feature testimony from many Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides, and includes musical recordings from the greatest artists of the era.

Don’t miss this outstanding series that airs September 17-21 and 24-28 at 8 p.m. on SCETV.

In addition, SCETV presents a new special in our own the Man and Moment series. Man and Moment: Steve Flaherty—A Voice Returned airs September 17 at 7:30 p.m. on SCETV.

An all-American athlete, Steve Flaherty volunteered for service and was killed six months after landing in Vietnam. In 2012, the unsent letters that were taken off of his body by the North Vietnamese became part of the first diplomatic exchange between Vietnam and the United States since the Vietnam conflict ended.
