Due to the hardships on students and schools associated with Hurricane Matthew, the Education Oversight Committee (EOC) has extended the deadline for “Read Your Way to the Big Game” entries to Monday, November 7, 2016.

To be considered for the contest, entries must be POSTMARKED BY NOVEMBER 7, 2016.

Contest kits were mailed to all primary, elementary, and middle schools in South Carolina in August. Public school students in PK-8 are again eligible to participate in this year’s contest. Two winning students (one reading for the University of South Carolina and one for Clemson) each will receive four free tickets to the Palmetto Bowl, the historic match-up between USC and Clemson.

Two schools with at least 70 percent participation are eligible to win $2,000 for their school library. Teachers can also win big! Five participating teachers are eligible to win $500 for their classroom and two teachers or school library media specialists can win $500 for their efforts in promoting the reading contest.
