The topic of assessment in schools can often be confusing. Join ETV on February 24 at 7:00 p.m. to learn about changes in assessment for SC public school students as well as the results of a survey that looks at exactly how much testing is happening in schools today.

Carolina Classrooms is ETV’s monthly educational series for teachers, parents and all citizens invested in the education of our children. This special program will provide interesting data and insight from education leaders, including Melanie Barton, Executive Director, SC Education Oversight Committee;  Dr. Sheila Quinn, Deputy Superintendent for Division of Innovation and Effectiveness, SC Department of Education; and Dr. Sean Alford, Superintendent, Aiken County School District.

ETV’s Carolina Classrooms series focuses on key educational topics and initiatives in our state and provides a forum for education stakeholders to learn and be involved. We would like to include your questions for our guests as part of the discussion. Send your questions before the broadcast to: CarolinaClassrooms@scetv.org.

Plan ahead! Mark your calendar to tune in March 30 at 7:00 p.m. on ETV when the topic will be Summer Camps! Also, stay connected with education in our state by accessing past editions of Carolina Classrooms. All programs are posted online after initial broadcast: scetv.org/carolinaclassrooms.

For future editions of Carolina Classrooms, ETV wants to feature YOUR classroom! Teachers … What do you do in your classroom to prepare your students for higher education, help them enter the workforce, or advance them technologically? Send us your classroom video to show how you engage your students creatively with their future. For information: scetv.org/carolinaclassrooms
