Carolina Classrooms, ETV’s monthly educational series for all educators and citizens invested in the education of our children, celebrates teachers, aired on April 27 at 7:00 p.m. on ETV, is now available online here!
The hour-long program features the finalists and the winner of the new South Carolina Teacher of the Year, sharing their passion for teaching and talking about the changes and challenges in education. We’ll even get a glimpse behind-the-scenes to see what makes these educators successful as we visit their classrooms!
Congratulations to the new South Carolina Teacher of the Year Jennifer Wise, a mathematics teacher at Hand Middle School, Richland School District One.
The finalists are Dr. Leah Barley, Royall Elementary School in Florence School District One; Joey Trail, Forestbrook Middle School in Horry County Schools; Sabrina Williams, R. H. Fulmer Middle School in Lexington School District Two; and Sheryn Billue, Lexington High School in Lexington School District One.
These teachers represent more than 50,000 public school teachers working across South Carolina. Each is a fine example of the competent and caring professionals that touch the lives of our students every day. Being named the SC Teacher of the Year is a great personal and professional honor. The Teacher of the Year program is part of a continuing effort to elevate and reinvigorate the teaching profession.
Each Carolina Classrooms program focuses on key educational topics and initiatives in our state and provides a forum for education stakeholders to learn and be involved.
